Black Lotus? Possible dying techniques?

A dear friend of mine (or rather, a friend who has recently crossed the line to lover, but we are NOT a couple) has eyes for only one blossom. And that would be the serene beauty of the lotus.

However, my lover and I are two birds of the same, off-beat feather. We have a taste for the Dark and Gothic. As such, he has always wanted to see a black lotus.

I decided that I want to grow him a lotus now. But I need to ask, how on earth can I properly dye one black?

Black Lotus? Possible dying techniques?
Maybe this will help

People dye flowers all the time, shouldn't be too hard to make one black.

In lotus notes, is there a way to search titles only, for key words?

at work, we have a massive database in lotus notes. i have been searching for words that i want to be pulled only from titles, not necessarily the body of the files held under the titles. i understand that currently, our lotus notes does search the body as well as the titles, but that takes too long, and it has caused me to break out of lotus notes many times because the hour glass gets "hung up" on a search. i haven't seen any options for title only searches, if there is an availability somehow, someway, please advise. thanks.

In lotus notes, is there a way to search titles only, for key words?
That's not available..
Reply:Create a full text index in your database properties (magnifying glass tab). The Full Text Index is very powerful and will allow nearly instant searches. Your query's would look like this if you were searching the Subject field for the value "Dentist": [Subject] contains dentist Report It

Who makes Lotus Elise?

Like i know Lotus is the make and Elise is model, but what i mean is, If Toyota owns Lexus and Scion, who owns Lotus? that type deal...also what dealerships in America sell the Lotus. Ford dealerships for Ford, Dodge for Dodge...are there Lotus dealerships?

Who makes Lotus Elise?
Lotus is it's own company..like Toyota. There are Lotus dealerships..but usually they are combined dealerships specializing in exotic vehicles.
Reply:Toyota does not own Lotus. Lotus might be stupid enough to use Toyota engines in some of there cars, but not stupid enough to let them own the,. Lotus is owned buy Lotus.Yes there are Lotus dealers, but there few and far between.Chevrolet owned part of Lotus when they used them to help build the ZR1 Corvettes. After that they sold there share .Stupid move. Like buying Fiat and not getting Ferrari as part of the deal.Yes they did that.
Reply:suprisingly enough, a greedy conglomerate like gm. actually, gm. damn. lotus is way to good for gm, but its true, i just wikipedia'd it and its gm. though it shares similar engines with honda and toyota... honda even offers performance packages for it. oh well, now we both know...
Reply:Lotus was founded by racing enthusiast Anthony Colin Chapman in Britain. The first Lotus was built in 1948, and used by Chapman to compete in races. By 1955, Chapman had officially formed Lotus Cars Ltd.

In 1986, General Motors took full control of Lotus and created Lotus Cars USA in 1987. That relationship lasted until 1993, when GM sold Lotus to Bugatti. Bugatti's ownership was even shorter; Lotus was sold to a Malaysian firm in 1996. The same year, Lotus began producing the flyweight Elise.

Today, Lotus still remains true to Chapman's original desire of producing lightweight and race-oriented sports cars. With tight cabin accommodations and minimal comfort and storage features, modern Lotus cars make poor grocery-getters. But for the enthusiast looking for a car that offers world-class handling and style at a reasonable price, the Lotus brand is hard to beat.

And yes, there are Lotus Dealers. There is one close to where I live in DC. Lotuses are also sold at some dealers specializing in extoics and the like
Reply:Lotus is owned by Malaysian company called Proton. The Elise uses a 4cyl Toyota engine. You can buy a new Lotus at a Lotus dealer(yes they have them) or at a some general luxury/exotic car dealers.
Reply:As said by others Toyota is owned by Proton (GM group) and uses for the Elise and Exige the Toyota engines (originally the Elise just had the Rover K 1.8 engine). Lotus also placed a Volumex in recent versions and now you have 225, 240, 220 HP supercharged 1.8 liter Toyota engines and 192 and 135 HP NA engines. Lotus uses a 2 liter turbo GM engine for the Lotus Europa (probably not imported in U.S.).
Reply:Lotus is owned by GM, with a majority share held by Proton.

You can find dealerships through their website (third link), and the most common way that I can think of on purchasing one is through your local exotic car importer.
Reply:the toyota mr2 spider and the lotus elise/exige both share/shared the same motor toyota owns lotus

Lotus 1-2-3 to Excel PAYMT() Function conversion?

I am converting a spreadsheet from Lotus 1-2-3 to Excel 2003 and I'm stuck with the PAYMT() function. What is the Excel equivalent?

principal 3106588.1908222

interest 0.005

term 21.00

type 0

LOTUS 1-2-3 Result: 156204.31576813

I have tried to replicate this result using the PMT() function in Excel which supposedly has the same properties as the PAYMT() function in Lotus. I get totally irrelevant results.

Thanks in advance.

Lotus 1-2-3 to Excel PAYMT() Function conversion?
In your formula for excel it's gonna look like this

lets say p=a1, i=a2 and t=a3

rate= .005/12 or a1/12

nper= 21months or a3

Pv= principa value 3106588.

hit enter and that should give you your monthly payment

Lotus sutra?

What is Lotus Sutra? is this book the supreme in the world? Why Lotus Sutra is not respected? Have you read the entire Lotus Sutra?

Lotus sutra?
Hi,

I would like to offer my humble thoughts to yr question :

Lotus sutra is one of the Sutra that was expounded by the Buddha .

All teachings that was taught by The Buddha is supreme.

Every teaching could lead you to get enlightened . Thus , a comparison of which is more superior is really unnecessary .

Getting enlightened and experience you Buddha nature is more important.

The Lotus Sutra is certainly well respected everywhere .

In Japan , there is a Buddhist Sect that was founded with strong emphasis on this sutra .

Where do you get the information that it is not respected ?

No, I have not read the entire Sutra , I only get to know part of the Sutra .But I respect it very much.

Lotus developer installation process?

I have already install lotus server and domino adminitrator.

But after installing lotus developer, I can not connect it to lotus server.

Lotus developer installation process?
This really requires a conversation more than a single answer, but I'll throw some suggestions out for you:

1) Check your connection documents in your local address book to see if you have the correct IP address.

2) Can you ping or telnet the server?

3) Try opening a database by going to File - Open - Database. Instead of putting in the server name, put in the IP address. Doing so will correct the connection for the future.

Hope this helps.

Lotus help please?

My friend's 8 yr old son has been doing a project for school using Lotus notes. Their printer is not working and he needs it printed out. My computer does not have Lotus, I have Office XP. Is there any way of converting the lotus file so as I can print it out for him? I urgently require an answer please, if possible.

Lotus help please?
Can you open it in Lotus notes and Save it as a .rtf file? You should then be able to open it using any other word processing package.
Reply:Use the "save as" function and save the document as a Word (.doc) file. Then you should be able to open the document in Word and print it.

I'm growing lotus plants in my garden. Will they remain in hibernation when I bring them indoors for winter?

I presently have several lotus plants growing in 20-gal. tubs of water in my backyard. Last year, I carted all eight of them into my unheated garage for the winter months here in Michigan. Unfortunately, we had a cold snap that lasted about 3 weeks and all of the lotus plants froze to death--except two. It's not feasible to heat the interior of our attached garage, nor run 100-W heaters in all eight tubs of water. So this winter, I plan to bring the lotus plants that will not fit in the bottom of my small pond into our heated sunroom that's just off of the kitchen. My question is, will the lotuses remain in a hibernation state during this long time period indoors at a 68-70 degree temperature or do they even need to go into hibernation? Lotus plants in the Philippines or Thailand, for example, don't go into a hibernation phase...or do they?

Do lotus leaves have any toxic ingredients?
On this site you find all contents ( and uses ) of lotus, Nelumbo nucifera L. :

http://www.liberherbarum.com/Pn3771.HTM

Regard the symbol for leaves in the table.

And here you find that the flowers, seeds, young leaves, and "roots" (rhizomes) are all edible:

So no problem; enjoy your lotus tea!

Do lotus leaves have any toxic ingredients?
Lotus leaves themselves are very healthy, but in some places they are sprayed with chemicals, herbicides %26amp; pesticides to control growth.

Just make sure the lotus leaves you are using are organic and 100% free of any chemicals.

About lotus plant.?
Did you know that a lotus has roots, stems, leaves, and seeds?

The roots of the lotus plant are well fixed in the mud or soil of the pond or any other small water body and the large broad green leaves (which goes up to 90 cm in diameter) of the plant are seen to float at the water surface. The thick stems or stalk holds the leaves and the beautiful lotus flower above the surface of the water.

Lotus Exige S?

For a design project at school, we are studying about Human Factors in design. One context we are using is the Lotus Exige S Car... does any of the experts/car owners out there have any specific comments about the Lotus Exige about these things:

- Location %26amp; Layout: car windows, handles, gears etc.

- New technologies: How is use of colour, sound and auditory feedback used to warn drivers of different situations - engine management, signaling, gear selection, brake condition etc.

- Benefit for drivers and passengers: Climate controls, heating %26amp; cooling techniques, and other benefits for the driver

10 points for the most informative one!

Thanks to everyone in advance :)

Lotus Exige S?
Location and Layout: Everything in the Lotus is designed for weight savings. So all the handles and such are very light.

New Technologies: There aren't any really in the Lotus, just a light car with a decent engines. It does have very firm suspension which lets the driver "feel" the road.

Benefit for the driver: The Exige is not designed with comfort in mind. It does have standard stuff(HVAC, radio, etc), but other than that it's a track car so it's intended to be as light as possible.
