When I get an email with pictures, the pictures are always attachments instead of opening right away. They are together with the email, but are outlined with a red box with an "x" on the top left and you cannot click on it. So, I have to go to the bottom and click on the other attachment. I hope I explained this right!!!

Upgrading to version 7 or version 8 may fix this.
Also make sure you are connected to the Internet. Notes might be trying to load a picture from a web site but can only do this if you are connected to the Internet.
