Any tips on growing lotus plants in dragon pots, either in or outdoors,( no pond): water, soil requirements?

urgently need help, as I just got 2 lotus plants and need to know how to go about growing them: soil/ water treatment, level of water, etc, etc. I can either keep them indoors or outside my house, but must be in a container (any specifications for them?)

Any tips on growing lotus plants in dragon pots, either in or outdoors,( no pond): water, soil requirements?
Lotus plants are heavy feeders (need fertilizer) and should be grown in soil. Lotus can be grown in tubs or large containers as long as the soil is kept very wet by having at least 2-6 inches of water above the soil where they are planted. Lotus plants prefer humidity and will tolerate temperatures into the 100s (116F here last summer and I did get burned leaves but the plants came back).

Thus, Either plant the lotus in a watertight pot and keep the pot constantly full of water, or line your dragon pot with an inner water tight liner, and place the lotus plant and it's pot in the liner. One per dragon pot would be best (unless dragon pots are 50 gallons each). Cover with water. The latter method is better as it will allow some circulation around the roots, and may be easier as you can drain the liner and refill as the water becomes nasty. Also, the water will probably be colonized by mosquitoes.

If your lotus is a hardy lotus, it will go dormant in the winter, and will winter over in zone 4 and above if planted where the roots won't freeze. Although , even in zone 9, may have to bring yours inside if it freezes outside.
