Could the mountainous snow lotus (saussurea) plant grow in a mountain CAVE?

I am writing a book where a character eats a snow lotus and I have the plant growing in a grassy area inside a cave on the side of the mountain. Is this possible, or would it only be possible on the mountainside outside of the cave?

Could the mountainous snow lotus (saussurea) plant grow in a mountain CAVE?
I don't believe it or the grass would be able to live inside the cave, unless the cave has a lightsource opening somewhere in it's roof/ceiling....whatever you call the top inside of a cave. Then you would have light and could have plants.

And I HAVE been in caves like that, so it's possible and believable.
